An agreement on the exchange of satellite data may be signed between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, Trend reports via the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
Within the context of the 17 meetings of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, the parties agreed to consider the possibility of concluding an agreement on the exchange of satellite data.
The implementation of a joint project on laying a fiber-optic communication line along the bottom of the Caspian Sea in the direction of Kazakhstan - Azerbaijan is continuing, the Ministry noted.
"National Company "Aktau International Sea Trade Port" JSC”, NC "KTZ" JSC and "Baku International Sea Trade Port" CJSC, "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC are working together to create a digital corridor and automate logistics processes of the Trans-Caspian International transport route, as well as the integration of information systems between the Kazakh ports of Aktau and Kuryk, and Baku," the ministry said.
The Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Bakhyt Sultanov, who was on a visit to Azerbaijan, and the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, signed an interdepartmental memorandum on trade cooperation on September 9, 2021.
This agreement will contribute to strengthening mutual trade between the countries on a mutually beneficial basis, cooperation with an emphasis on identifying barriers to trade, and finding solutions to eliminate them.
