Current loan portfolio of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) projects in Azerbaijan was estimated at 817 million euros at the beginning of March 2022 and the loan portfolio is designed for the implementation of 33 programs, Trend reports via EBRD.
Largest part of the project portfolio (88 percent or 721 million euros) is directed to investments in sustainable infrastructure, 9 percent or 71 million euros to investments in industry, trade and the agricultural sector and 3 percent or 24 million euros to investments in financial institutions.
Bank has generally invested over 3.3 billion euros in Azerbaijan (181 projects).
EBRD provided loans in the amount of 17 million euros for the implementation of six projects in Azerbaijan last year and this figure has reached 857 million euros for lending to 34 projects in the public and private sectors of the country during the past four years.
EBRD has been cooperating with Azerbaijan since 1992 and is the country's leading investor.
