BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. The number of active taxpayers, as of April 1, 2022, in Azerbaijan increased by 1.7 percent over the year to 724,400, Trend reports with reference to the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the reporting period, the number of active VAT (valued added tax) payers in Azerbaijan grew by 3.9 percent to 41,500, while the number of business entities increased by 1.2 percent to 191,500.
Moreover, as of January 1, 2023, active taxpayers’ number in Azerbaijan grew by seven percent to 711,900 per year.
Meanwhile, according to Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan's Economy Minister, tax revenues to Azerbaijan's state budget from January through March 2023 totaled 4.8 billion manat ($2.8 billion). This figure increased by 74.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
