Ministry of Roads, Urban Development of Iran releases statistics on roads infrastructure

About 1,300 kilometers of transit roads have been laid in Iran over the past eight years (from March 21, 2013, through March 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

According to the statistics, the length of transit roads in Iran was 24,000 kilometers 8 years ago (from March 21, 2013 through March 20, 2014). This figure exceeded 25,300 kilometers in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).

“Eight years ago, 2,200 km of controlled-access highway were laid in Iran. While in the last Iranian year, this figure rose to 2.720 kilometers,” the statistics said.

Moreover, Iran had an average of 21,600 km of trunk roads eight years ago. This figure rose to 25,200 kilometers in the last Iranian year, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, the length of rural roads in Iran was about 130,000 kilometers eight years ago. This figure reached 136,000 kilometers within the last Iranian year.
