(dpa) - The price for crude oil produced by members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) peaked at the end of the week, ahead of the cartel's upcoming March meeting, OPEC said on Monday.
On Friday, one barrel (159 litres) of crude from OPEC's twelve-brand reference basket was at 96.50 dollars, up 1.51 dollars from Thursday, OPEC said.
The oil ministers from OPEC's 13 member states are expected to leave output levels unchanged at their March 5 meeting, although several member states, among them Iran and Venezuela, had demanded production cuts.
