Azerbaijan, Baku, 2 December / Trend corr. S.Babayeva/ During January-October 2008, investment in the Nakhchivan
Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan comprised about AZN 246mln, an increase
of 42.8% over the same period of last year, NAR Permanent Mission in Baku said on 1 December.
In ten months of 2008, NAR construction enterprises carried out work worth AZN 221.2mln,
which is up 56.1% over the same period of last year. Construction sector
accounts for 90% of all investment in the NAR.
Of these investments, AZN 147mln were used for work in new buildings, AZN 37mln
for major repairs, AZN 9.7mln for maintenance, AZN 7.8mln for other
construction work.
