The exchange rate of the U.S. dollar to the Kazakh tenge hit 1 to 170 in Astana at 12:00 on Feb. 4.
On Feb. 3, the dollar was worth 121-122 tenge.
The dollar's appreciation came after the National Bank stated that it cannot maintain the tenge's rate in the previous corridor.
