Turkmen currency revenues increase 20.24 percent in January

General increase of Turkmenistan's currency incomes made up 20.24 percent in January compared to the same period in 2008, the country's Central Bank reported.

"As to foreign investments, Turkmenistan clearly fulfills all undertaken obligations, maintains its stability and rate of national currency," the bank said. Key income of the Turkmen public budget falls on natural gas export which increased by 16.6 percent in January compared to the same period in 2008.

Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov stated necessity to analyze reasons of dropping currency incomes in several fields, as well as their receivables and loan liabilities. The president commissioned the Central Bank to use all existing powers and influence leverages to up currency incomes.

Berdimuhammedov stressed that all work to improve financial activity should be under a serious control of deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, first of all,  Head of Economic Sector Japarova, as well as heads of sectoral ministries and departments.
