Azerbaijan increases car import

In January-March Azerbaijan imported about 16,800 cars compared to 16,500 in the same period of last year, State Statistics Committee reported.

The amount of passenger cars imported during the reported period totaled more than $103 million compared to $114.6 million in the first quarter of last year.

In January-March Azerbaijan imported 2,500 trucks compared to 2,236 during the same period of the last year. The amount of imported cars totaled more than $31 million compared to nearly $33 million in January-March 2008.

Also in January-March, the Republic imported 200 buses compared to 406 in the first quarter of last year. The imported buses totaled nearly $11 million compared to $13 million in the same period of last year.
