In January-October the amount of construction work increased in Azerbaijan by 31.8 percent, the Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee reported.
The construction work in the public sector amounted to 25.7 percent during the year, in the private sector - 74.3 percent.
About 74.2 percent of the total construction work, account for the primary construction, reconstruction and expansion, 16.7 percent- capital repair, 4.9 percent- current repair and 4.2 percent- other construction work.
In the first half-year, about 63,300 people were involved in the construction sector of Azerbaijan. During this period nominal wage level in the construction sector amounted to 502.4 manat, which is 11.7 percent more than January-October 2009. Nominal wage levels in state companies amounted to 364.2 manat (decreasing by 0.8 percent in a year), in private companies - 626.1 manat (increasing by 21.6 percent).
A nominal wage in big and medium construction companies amounted to 526,6 manat. The level of wages in the sphere of construction of buildings increased by 16.2 percent over the year and amounted to 536.5 manat, in the specialized construction by 1.3 percent to 568.1 manat.
