Average monthly salary increases by 9 percent in Azerbaijan in 2010

Average monthly salary in Azerbaijan in 2010 amounted to 325 manat, which is 9.1 percent more than 2009, the State Statistics Committee said.

Average monthly salary in Azerbaijan in 2010 amounted to 325 manat, which is 9.1 percent more than 2009, the State Statistics Committee said.

The highest salary was recorded in the extractive industries, in the spheres of finance, information and communications, scientific and technological activities, as well as in the construction sector.

Employees of enterprises and organizations received social benefits totaling 15.8 million manat in Jan.-Nov..

Major beneficiaries were employees of the extractive industry, energy, gas and water producing and distributing enterprises, refining industry, transport and communications.

In 2010 nominal income per capita amounted to 2.866 manat, which is 11.9 percent more than the figure of the last year. Real cash income per capita amounted to 2.619.6 manat with a growth of 12.9 percent.

During the reporting period, the average salary exceeded the average cash income per capita per month by 36.1 percent.

During the reported period, the nominal incomes of the population in Azerbaijan amounted to 25.605.6 million manat, which is 13.3 percent higher than last year. Real money incomes of population during this period reached 23.404.5 million manat, increasing by 14.2 percent.

The population directed 70 percent of personal incomes to purchase of goods and services, 8.6 percent - payment of taxes, social insurance and mandatory dues, and 20 percent - the accumulation and capital increase.

The official exchange rate is 0.7974 manat to $1 Jan.21.
