Remittances between Uzbekistan and Russia grew by 66% in the second quarter

Remittances between Uzbekistan and Russia in the second quarter of 2011 increased by 65.6 percent compared with the same period in 2010 - up to 1.141 billion dollars from 689 million dollars, according to Central Bank of Russia.

The volume of money transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan in April - June increased by 67.8 percent - up to 1.067 billion dollars, from Uzbekistan to Russia - by 38.9 percent, to $ 75 million.

The average amount of one transfer from Russia to Uzbekistan rose to 566 dollars against 537 dollars in the previous year, from Uzbekistan to Russia - 1.582 thousand dollars against 1.351 thousand dollars.

Uzbekistan is leading among the CIS countries in terms of money transfers from Russia. The second largest transaction in Russia in the second quarter of this year took Tajikistan - 774 million dollars, the third - Ukraine - 663 million dollars.

In 2010, Uzbekistan has also been a leader in terms of money transfers from Russia among individuals.

According to the Central Bank of Russia, last year the volume of money transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan increased by 38.7 percent - up to 2.835 billion dollars, from Uzbekistan to Russia - dropped by 0.9 percent, to 227 million dollars.

The second largest transaction in Russia in 2010 took Tajikistan - 2.216 billion, the third - Ukraine, which was sent to 1.809 billion dollars.

Russia's central bank said that the data cover such systems as Anelik, BLIZKO, Coinstar Money Transfer, Contact, InterExpress, Migom, MoneyGram, PrivatMoney, UNIStream, Western Union, AziyaEkspress, ALLURE, Blitz, Fast Mail, Golden Crown, Leader and the Russian Post .
