In January-August, over 37,600 cars were imported to Azerbaijan. It is 14.5 percent more than the same period of last year, the State Statistics Committee said on Wednesday.
According to the information, the total value of imported cars exceeded $378.8 million in Jan.-Aug., or 35.3 percent more than in January-August 2010.
Some 3,377 trucks were imported to Azerbaijan in Jan.-Aug., or 11 percent more than in January-August last year. The total value of imported cars totaled $68.3 million or 6.9 percent less than last year.
The country imported 364 buses in Jan.-Aug., or 35.2 percent less than in January-August last year. Buses worth $15 million were imported in January-August, or 48.1 percent less than the same period of last year.
About 598 trucks were produced in Azerbaijan in Jan.-Sept., or 25.4 percent more than in January-September last year. During this period, about 252 cars were produced, or 31.7 percent less than the same period of last year.
