Kazakhstan launches first aircraft manufacturing plant

Kazakhstan has launched today the first aircraft manufacturing plant in Karaganda region, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported. The plant will produce special agricultural aircrafts "KazAviaSpektr".

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev participated in the opening ceremony of the aircraft manufacturing plant.

The akimat [regional governor's office] of Karaganda region reported that, the cost of the project was 1.648 billion tenge (roughly $11.14 million).

The plant will produce Farmer-2 and Farmer-500 aircrafts spraying fields with chemical insecticides.

In the future it is planned to produce multi-purpose aircraft Sunkar with a maximum range ability of 1,500 kilometers, which can be used for aerial survey, oil and gas pipelines patrol and business flights.
