Azerbaijani railway operator finishes first half-year with $9.4 million in profit

Azerbaijan Railways' profits amounted to 110.4 million manat in the first half of the year, the company's head Arif Asgerov said on Tuesday.
"Some 103.2 million manat of the total amount of the profits accounted for freight traffic, and the remaining 7.2 million manat for passenger traffic," Asgerov said.
Some 35.5 million manat of the total volume of expenditures accounted for salaries of employees, 6.6 million manat was transferred to the Social Protection Fund, and 3 million manat was spent to pay off various types of state taxes.
According to Asgerov, major repairs were carried out on 53.7 kilometers of roads.
