Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Sept. 7 / Trend H. Hasanov /

The Garlyk mining and processing factory producing potash fertilizers in Turkmenistan will be constructed on time, Turkmen ambassador to Belarus Murad Yazberdyev told reporters in Minsk today, Belta agency reported.

This project is being implemented by "Belgorkhimprom" (Belarus) within an agreement signed with the Turkmen government in 2010. It is planned to be commissioned in early 2015. The cost of the project is $ 1.2 billion.

"The ambassador said that the plant construction project is a top priority of bilateral cooperation," Belta said. "It is controlled by the presidents. The talks on its implementation are underway, so the project will be implemented."

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov required to take immediate steps at the government meeting in early September to increase the pace of the construction work in the Lebap region of the country.

Afterwards, according to the initiative of official Minsk, a telephone conversation was held between Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

According to local media from Ashgabat, Lukashenko stressed that Belarus attaches great importance to the development of multifaceted cooperation with Turkmenistan.

The presidents paid special attention to the topic of implementing the previous agreements.

The delivery of modern Belarusian agricultural machinery for a local agro-industrial complex and a joint ore processing complex construction project which is under implementation are the examples of successful business partnership.

According to the forecasts of the Turkmen side, the total bilateral trade turnover this year must hit about $ 400 million.

A mine for potash fertilizer extraction is being constructed in complex geological conditions. Builders have to consider the increased seismicity of a mountain area.

Mastering Garlyk field located on the territory of Turkmenistan will allow receiving 1.4 million tons annually.

The new production will not only fully meet the needs of agriculture in the country, but send thousands of tons of valuable fertilizer for export every year.

Production of mineral fertilizers is one of the most profitable industries. The steadily growing world population, increased demand for grains and oil-bearing crops for biofuel production, the current state of the global market of agricultural products were the main factors of the increased demand for these products.

In addition to increasing productivity, potash fertilizers increase the qualitative characteristics of cultivated products.
