Slight increase observed in Turkish industrial production index

Turkey's industrial production index (IPI) increased by one per cent in May 2013 reaching 108 points compared to the same month in 2012, the Turkish Statistics Institute said in a report posted on its website today.

In May, the IPI decreased by 0.6 per cent compared to the previous month.

In the same month, the Turkish IPI reduced mining by six per cent. It increased manufacturing industry by 1.4 per cent, electricity generation and distribution by 1.6 per cent.

The highest index rate was observed in the energy sector. In May it increased by 4.6 per cent compared to the same period of 2012.
