Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed at a special meeting that domestic and foreign firms and companies operating in "Avaza" national tourist zone in the Caspian Sea, enjoy tax and customs exemptions, the Turkmen media reported on Thursday.
"The investors investing their money into the construction of recreational-entertainment and socio-economic facilities, hotel business and services sector have the same privileges," the Turkmen leader added.
It was also stressed that strict requirements are made to ensure environmental safety and environmental protection while designing, constructing and exploiting the facilities on the Caspian Sea shore.
"Creating the modern tourism infrastructure in Avaza, we are forming the basis for further development of the tourism industry designed to become an important, highly profitable sector of the country's economy," the president added.
An international tourism congress is planned to be held in Avaza national tourism zone in September 2013.
Turkmenistan is rich in historical, architectural and natural monuments.
The companies from Russia and other CIS countries, France, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Latvia, US, Australia, UAE, Iran, China, and South Korea are among the country's tourist partners.
