Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 30 / Trend A. Akhundov /

Azerbaijan plans to pass to a tax return pre-filling system in the coming years.

According to the draft concept of socio- economic development in 2014 and the next three years, this is one of the priorities of Azerbaijani tax policy. The budget package for 2014 is currently being considered by the Azerbaijani parliament.

Tax returns will be partially filled by the tax bodies to eliminate difficulty while filling tax returns by taxpayers on the basis of available data. The tax returns will be filled using modern technology and sent to the taxpayer's e-mail address. The taxpayer will only have to check the data in the tax return and approve them or submit the necessary documents to the tax bodies after revealing any discrepancy.

Moreover, the government plans to expand the use of partnership agreements between the tax bodies and taxpayers.

Taxpayers spend 214 hours on tax return filing and payment in Azerbaijan every year which is 4.7 times less than in 2007. These figures are reflected in the final report Doing Business- 2013.

According to the report, the number of annual payments for the period decreased two-fold to 18.
