Over 15 percent increase in volume of Georgia’s imports from Azerbaijan

Georgia imported goods worth $113.19 million from Azerbaijan in January-February 2014, according to the Georgian National Statistics Service's report on foreign trade.

The volume of imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia for the period increased 15.49 percent. By comparison, Georgia imported Azerbaijani goods worth $98.01 million in January- February 2013, according to the report.

Azerbaijan ranks second in the list of countries from which Georgia imports goods. The share of Azerbaijani imports in the total volume of goods imported into the country is 10 percent.

Georgia imports most goods from Turkey. The volume of Georgia's imports from Turkey totalled $191.98 million in January-February 2014, or 17 percent of the total import volume.

Georgia imported goods worth $1.13 billion in 2013, or 15.49 percent more than in the same period last year.
