The total assets of Uzbekistan's commercial banks as of June 2015 amounted to 59.5 trillion soums, the total loan portfolio of banks of the republic - 37.5 trillion soums, the country's Central Bank said.
It was previously reported that as of late December 2014, the total assets of Uzbekistan's commercial banks equaled 56.2 trillion soums, the total loan portfolio - 34.8 trillion soums.
Thus, these indices increased by 5.9 percent and 7.8 percent respectively in the first half of 2015.
The total volume of deposits attracted by the banks of the republic as of early July amounted to 31.5 trillion soums compared to 28.6 trillion soums as of early 2015 (10.1 percent growth).
The total capital of banks for the six months increased by 4.4 percent - up to 7.2 trillion soums.
Currently, there are 26 commercial banks, including three state banks, five - with foreign capital, seven private and 11 joint-stock in the banking system of Uzbekistan.
The official exchange rate is 2575,18 soums/$1 July 30.
