The law on ratification of the ‘textile protocol’ with the EU has come into force in Uzbekistan.
The law signed by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev June 1 was published by the country’s media June 2.
The law was adopted by the Legislative (lower) Chamber of the Uzbek Parliament March 31 and was approved by the parliament’s Senate (upper chamber) on May 27.
The document envisages customs privileges while processing, supplying and transit of Uzbek textile products to the EU countries.
Up till now, no special advantages regarding the import of textile products from Uzbekistan have been applied in the country’s bilateral trade with the EU.
There was a double licensing system when issuing permits for the import of textile products from Uzbekistan to the EU.
