Kazakh soft drinks producers cover domestic demand

In January-December 2017 Kazakh companies produced 1.2 billion liters of non-alcoholic drinks (16.5 percent more than in 2016) and 544.5 million liters of mineral and carbonated water (10.5 percent more in 2016).

In 2016 local companies produced soft drinks less by 9 percent and drinking water by 18.7 percent, compared to 2015, Energy Prom reported.

Among the regions producing non-alcoholic beverages, in 2016, Almaty ranked first (62.3 percent of the total number of soft drinks produced in Kazakhstan), Almaty second (11.9 percent) and South Kazakhstan region (SK) third (8.9 percent).

SK was also the absolute leader in the production of mineral and carbonated water - 46.5 percent of the total amount of carbonated water produced in the country.

The top 3 soft drinks producing regions included Akmola region (13.5 percent) and Almaty (9.2 percent).

Kazakh companies covered 93.2 percent of demand for non-alcoholic beverages and water in the country’s domestic market in January-November 2017.
