Kazakh exports rise in price by more than 13pct

Prices for exported goods in Kazakhstan increased by 13.3 percent and for imported goods by 4.5 percent in August 2018 compared to the beginning of the year, Kazakh media reported referring to the Statistics Committee of the National Economy Ministry.

In this period, prices of export supplies went up by 19.8 percent for oil, 19.5 percent for manganese ore, 17.6 percent for copper ore, 14.9 percent for copper, 13.6 percent for natural gas, 12.8 percent for ferroalloys, 10.7 percent for iron ore, 10 percent for rolled ferrous metals, 8.5 percent for coal, 8.2 percent for aluminum. At the same time, zinc price decreased by 11.1 percent.

A the same time, price increase was observed for barley - 14.8 percent, cotton - 6.5 percent, and wheat - 6.1 percent, while it decreases for wool – 6 percent.

As for the imported products, fruits and nuts rose in price by 58.7 percent, poultry meat by 19.7 percent, fish by 12.3 percent, tea by 8.5 percent, and sugar by 2.2 percent.

At the same time, cocoa fell in price by 6.6 percent, margarine by 3 percent, vegetable oil by 2.3 percent, pasta by 2.2 percent, and coffee by 1.5 percent.

In addition, the price for shoes became higher by 25.2 percent, paper by 13.8 percent, plastic by 8.8 percent, and textile products by 7.6 percent, compared to the beginning of the year.
