Iran, Russia expediting plans to boost trade ties

Head of the National Standards Organization Nayereh Pirouzbakht said Tehran and Moscow are seeking to speed up plans to boost mutual business ties.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation are seeking to increase the volume of their trades based on a recent agreement between the two nations,” Pirouzbakht told IRNA.

On March 29, Tehran and Moscow signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on boosting cooperation in the field of standards and standardization.

It was signed between Pirouzbakht and Head of the Russian Federal Service for Accreditation Alexey Khersontsev. They agreed to cooperate in the standard field for a period of five years.

Pirouzbakht said the two countries plan to unify their standard policies and reach a common understanding for enhanced cooperation.
