Foreigners invest $12.4M in Iran’s livestock & fishery sectors

In the first seven months of the Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), $12 million have been invested in livestock and poultry farming, while $400,000 have been invested in fishery sector in Iran, Head of Iran’s Center for Foreign Investment Services Mohammad Mahdi Dalvand said, IRNA reported.

He said that during the reporting period, 19 projects worth a total of $366 million in the field of livestock and poultry farming, as well as 4 projects worth a total of $3.6 million in the fishery sector were approved by the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran.

“These investments were made by the UK, South Africa, Afghanistan, Germany, Azerbaijan, Russia, Iraq, France, Canada and Malaysia, while $294,000 was invested by Iranians living abroad,” he said.

He added that 55 projects worth $1.373 billion in 2013, 40 projects worth $915 million in 2014, 65 projects worth $6.712 billion in 2015, 138 projects worth $10.398 billion in 2016 and 179 projects worth $10.730 billion in 2017 were approved.

“In the seven months of the current year, 86 projects worth $1.169 billion have been approved,” he said.
