By Sara Israfilbayova – Trend:

Azerbaijan and Australia are considering a number of projects to expand mutual investments, President of the Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce in Australia Nizami Jafarov told Trend on Nov. 27.

He said that Australian businessmen are interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan.

"The main trading partners of Australia are China and India,” Jafarov said. “These two countries produce a huge number of different products and their proximity to Australia gives them great economic attractiveness. But despite these geographical realities, Australian entrepreneurs successfully export their goods to Azerbaijan, namely, wines, dairy and other agricultural products.”

He also stressed that over the past few months, delegations from a number of Azerbaijani companies have visited Australia.

Among them are representatives of AzerGold, Kapital Bank, the International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) and others.

"The experience is actively exchanged,” Jafarov added. “The Chamber ensures the effectiveness of this interaction. For example, being in close contact with the Australian Department of Economic Development, we helped organize meetings between representatives of AzerGold and leading Australian mining companies."

“The Chamber is also working with Azerbaijan and Australia to organize the visit of a second trade delegation of Australian businessmen to Azerbaijan, which is planned for the near future,” Jafarov said.
