The Iran-Azerbaijan joint car plant has the potential to manufacture 10,000 cars per year,
In the current Iranian year (started March 21), Iran-Azerbaijan joint car plant has produced 1,000 cars and has already sold 90 percent of them, the Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Javad Jahangirzadeh said, Trend reports via IRNA.
The car plant is located on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Jahangirzadeh also added that the two countries have established a joint pharmaceutical plant.
Soon, a bus manufacturing plant, using Swedish and Iranian experience, will be built in Azerbaijan, he said.
The ambassador went on to say that in January-November 2018, the trade turnover between Iran and Azerbaijan increased by 73 percent, he said.
Julfa, Astara and Bilasuvar customs between Azerbaijan and Iran are operating around the clock and it positively affects trade relations between the two countries, Jahangirzadeh said.
Islamic Republic of Iran is among the main import sources for the CIS countries, and at the same time Azerbaijan ranks first among them in terms of importing Iranian goods, The envoy added.
