Volume of air cargo transportation up by almost 10% in Turkey

In 2018, cargo transportation in Turkey amounted to 3.8 million tons, which is 9.8 percent more compared to 2017, Turkey's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

The ministry noted that in 2018, domestic flights transported 915,000 tons of cargo, while international flights accounted to 2.9 million tons of cargo.

"In 2018, domestic freight traffic increased by 3.5 percent compared to 2017. At the same time, the volume of cargo transportation by international flights increased by 11.9 percent compared to 2017," the ministry said.

The ministry added that in 2018, the amount of cargo at the four main airports of Turkey reached 3.2 million tons.
