Indian Deputy Minister of Surface Transport Gopal Krishna has announced Chabahar Port will be the only option for India to communicate with Afghanistan.
Speaking at the International Conference on Development of Chabahar, he noted the business delegation from India is the biggest foreign delegation at the conference.
He noted the importance of India's trade with Afghanistan through Chabahar Port.
"The major part of economic transactions between India and Afghanistan is currently done via Chabahar Port and we consider Chabahar as India's maritime support point in the region."
The port can be also considered a connection hub between India and the Central Asia, he added.
The Indian official also noted the exemption of Chabahar Port from the US sanctions as an advantage.
"Chabahar Port is exempted from sanctions to be a development point for Afghanistan and we can use this capacity for more development of Afghanistan."
