The Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan have scheduled talks with Turkmenistan to open regular bus routes starting from May 1, 2019, Trend reports referring to Uzbek media.
This is stated in the action plan of Uzbekistan for negotiations with foreign countries on cooperation in the field of transport and logistics, Uzbek media reported.
The negotiations also concern the simplification in the process of obtaining multiple entry visas for drivers of national carriers.
The total border of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan is 1,650 kilometers. According to the Uzbekistan, the total volume of trade between the two countries in 2018 increased to $302 million from $177 million a year earlier. In April 2018, the countries signed contracts and memorandums providing for joint projects worth over $250 million.
