Iran’s Qazvin province earned $70 million from mining materials export in 2018, said Ali Porzahmat, head of Iran’s Qazvin Province Industry, Mine and Trade Organization, Trend reports.

He said that the mining materials of the province were exported to Turkey, the UAE and Iraq.

He added that Tarom copper mine is ready for exploitation in the province and will be put into operation in early next year (starts March 21, 2019) with the participation of officials.

Porzahmat said that Turkish businessmen invested in lead and zinc deposits in the Buin-Zahra county last year.

“Last year, mining materials worth $25 million were exported from lead and zinc mines in the Buin-Zahra county to Turkey, and these mines have bigger potential,” he said.

He expressed hope that with the private sector’s investments and the support of the banks, there will be great development in the mines of the province.

As many as 55 mining facilities operate in Qazvin province.
