The increase of cargo turnover, passenger turnover and foreign trade turnover was observed in Kazakhstan in the period of January-May 2019, Trend reports referring to Committee of Statistics of Kazakhstan.
The volume of cargo turnover amounted to 236.4 billion tonne-kilometers in the reporting period, which is 1.8 percent more than in the same period of the previous year.
In turn, the volume of passenger turnover in the same period equaled 115.3 billion passenger-kilometers, which is 4.3 percent more than in January-May 2018.
In contrast, the volume of foreign trade turnover decreased by 0.1 percent compared to January-May of the previous year and stood at $28.66 billion.
Some $18.5 billion account for export and some $10.16 billion account for import.
Compared to the same period of last year the volume of export decreased by 1.2 percent, whereas the volume of import increased by two percent.
