Irish banking sector interests in investing in Georgia

Prospects of bilateral economic relations between Georgia and Ireland were discussed at the meeting of George Zurabashvili, charge d'Affaires of Georgia in Ireland, with Colin Hunt, Executive Director of Allied Irish Banks (AIB), Trend reports with reference to commersant.ge.

George Zurabashvili emphasized the growing interest of Ireland to Georgia. He noted that the banking system of Georgia is one of the most attractive sectors of the national economy, and there is a high potential for cooperation in this area. The charge d'Affaires also outlined the prospects of the tourism sector in the country. He added that according to the World Bank indicators, the existing tax system in the country is very beneficial for investment and business.

The parties agreed to arrange a presentation of the investment environment in Georgia for representatives of the banking sector, business community and mass media of Ireland to increase their awareness of Georgia and attract new investments.
