More than 60 million tons of cargo shipped and discharged at Iranian ports

Some 60.91 million tons of cargo have been shipped and discharged at the Iranian ports since the beginning of this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019) till Aug. 19, Trend reports referring to the report of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization.

According to the report, the volume of the shipped and discharged cargo increased by four percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year (55.75 million tons).

The cargoes have been shipped and discharged at such Iranian ports as Abadan, Astara, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Bushehr, Jask, Chabahar, Khorramshahr, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee, Firudinkenar, Qeshm, Genave, Lenge, Neka and Bushehr.

During the reporting period, 17.46 million tons of oil were shipped and discharged, which is 6.8 percent less compared to the same period of last Iranian year (18.73 million tons).

The container freight reached 0.69 million tons, which is by 35.6 percent less compared to the same period of last Iranian year (1.07 million tons).

The volume of other container cargoes reached 8.37 million tons, which is 19.7 percent less compared to the same period of last Iranian year (10.42 million tons).

The total cargo shipload reached 7.97 million tons which is by 10.3 percent less compared to the same period of last year (8.89 million tons).

The volume of dry products reached 24.76 million tons, which is an increase of 35.3 percent compared to the same period of last year (18.30 million tons).

The volume of shipped and discharged bulk cargo reached 2.35 million tons, which is an increase of 4.7 percent compared to the same period of last Iranian year (2.25 million tons).
