Metallurgical companies in Azerbaijan manufactured products worth 276.1 million manats in January-July 2019, which is by 17.6 percent less than in the same period of 2018, Trend reports referring to the country’s State Statistical Committee.
The manufacture of finished metal products increased by 59.2 percent and amounted to 135.7 million manats in monetary terms, and overall growth in the metallurgical industry reached 20 percent, having amounted to 411.8 million manats.
In total, in January-July 2019, 201,100 tons of steel were smelted in Azerbaijan (15.1 percent decrease); 170,100 tons of rebar (3.3 percent decrease), 16,700 tons of steel pipes ( a two times decline), 4,100 tons of wire rod (a decrease of 4.3 percent) and 389.7 tons of rods, shafts and profiles (a decline of 6 percent) were produced.
The production of primary alloys of raw aluminum decreased by 0.9 percent to 22,400 tons.
Production of prefabricated building structures made of ferrous metals reached 15.2 million manats (an increase of 77 percent) in monetary terms. Other structures made of ferrous metals were produced in the amount of 14,500 tons (an increase of 3.4 times). The production of flexible wires, cables and bare cables from copper amounted to 2,350 tons, showing a decline of almost three times.
