Almost 47,000 tons of potatoes have been harvested in Turkmenistan's Dashoguz region, which is more than 97 percent of the annual target, Trend reports citing Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
Local tenants believe that the soil and climatic conditions in Dashoguz are the most optimal for this crop and they successfully grow tubers of many varieties including the disease-resistant and high-yielding Dutch "Sante" variety.
The northern region of the country is the largest supplier to the country's trading network of various types of fruits and vegetables, melon crops.
