The sales of Iran Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) amounted to 840 trillion rials (about $20 billion) during the first six months (March 21-September 22) of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019), IMIDRO Chairman Khodadad Gharibpour said, Trend reports citing ISNA.

He said that this figure was 710 trillion rials (about $16.9 billion) in the same period last year.

He added that during the sixth month (August 22 - September 22), the sales of mining materials amounted to 126 trillion rials (about $3 billion).

According to Gharibpour, the likelihood of reduction or abolition of duties on export of certain mining materials in Iran has increased.

“The decision in this regard will be made after discussions with Iran’s deputy minister of industry, mine and trade,” he noted.

Since Sept. 22 last year, 20-25 percent duty on export of mining materials has been in force in Iran.
