New gold and copper fields discovered in Azerbaijan

UK’s Anglo Asian Mining plc (AIM), which is listed gold, copper and silver producer focused in Azerbaijan, discovered Avshancli new gold-copper mineral occurrence and Gilar new gold mineral occurrence in its northeast region of its Gadabay Contract Area (Gadabay CA) in western Azerbaijan, Trend reports referring to the company.

Gold-copper mineral occurrence in Avshancli is located approximately 10.5 kilometers northeast of the Company's Gadabay open pit operation.

There are two gold-copper zones (Avshancli-1 and Avshancli-2) and one copper-gold zone (Avshancli-3) in Avshancli.

Gilar gold mineralization occurrence is located two kilometers south of the Avshancli-1 mineral occurrence

The company discovered significant gold intercepts - 11.84 grams per ton of gold from the North Zone and 16.02 grams per ton gold from the South Zone.

Diamond core drilling has commenced at Avshancli-1. The drilling program is planned to be carried out in Gilar. The assays are awaited.

"We are delighted to report the discovery of the two additional mineral occurrences within the Gadabay contract area, Avshancli and Gilar," Reza Vaziri, CEO at Anglo Asian Mining, said. "These discoveries demonstrate our belief in the further potential of the Gadabay contract area and the effectiveness of our geological exploration program."

Moreover, the company said that it expanded the drilling program in Azerbaijan’s Gosha contract area. The drilling operations were completed at six diamond wells in the third quarter. The results of the analysis, after drilling eight diamond wells in the Dirnis copper-silver zone in Ordubad, were positive.
