Iran's Trade Promotion Organization seeks to improve exported goods' quality

TEHRAN, Iran, Nov.9

Trend:

Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Iran set up a working group for quality control of exported goods, said Head of Commercial Service at TPO Ehsan Ghamari, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

"Many exporters are not aware of the quality standards during the sanctions; therefore, a package has been drafted to support non-oil exports. The quality of Iran's exports goods to 15 destinations including India and China used to be often ignored, so the working group will collect expert views on the process," said the official.

"Iran has signed trade agreements with over 50 countries. It is also expected that Iran will sign a memorandum of understanding with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)," Ghamari noted.

"The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran is the country's exports hub and intermediary side between exporters and the National Standard Organization," he said adding that TPO needs to provide a platform to the exporters to discuss their problems.

"With setting up the working group on the quality standard control, a comprehensive plan to improve exports' quality will be implemented," said Ghamari.
