Infrastructure projects discussed with Turkish holdings in Turkmenistan

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with heads of Calik and Ronesans Turkish holdings - Ahmet Calik and Erman Ilicak, Trend reports referring to local Altyn Asyr TV channel.

The Turkmen president invited the Calik leader to take part in a tender for the construction of three cement plants and drew attention to the need to build a metallurgical plant.

Berdimuhamedov focused on increasing the efficiency of participation of this holding in the implementation of big mutually beneficial projects for the construction of new industrial and social facilities, in the transportation sector, in the field of energy and healthcare, the report said.

In a conversation with Calik, the issue of laying the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line, the construction of which was entrusted to Calik, was also raised. The Turkish businessman informed about the construction of international burn and aesthetic centers. An exchange of views took place on renewable energy projects.

Calik previously completed a number of major projects - the construction of an international seaport in Turkmenbashi city, a urea plant in Garabogaz city and a combined cycle power plant in Mary city.

In turn, Ilicak also confirmed the interest of the company headed by him in the continuation of productive partnership.

Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan is betting on attracting innovative developments of well-known corporations, including those from Turkey.

A plant for the production of synthetic motor gasoline was built with the participation of Ronesans in Turkmenistan’s Ahal region.

Ilicak informed about the promotion of a number of infrastructure projects for various purposes entrusted to the company.
