The production of a number of products in Iran increased from March 21 through November 21 of this Iranian year (beginning on March 21, 2019) compared to the same period of last year, Iran's Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade Reza Rahmani said.
Rahmani made the remark in Iran at a meeting with the heads of the Iranian big industrial and mining companies, Trend reports referring to the ministry's website.
“Pickup truck production increased by 5.3 percent from March 21 through November 21 of this Iranian year, tractor production by 20.2 percent (10,467 pieces in the same period of last year), vegetable oil by 4.8 percent (960,000 tons in the same period of last year) and production of medicines increased by 30.1 percent (24.8 billion pieces in the same period of last year),” the minister said.
Rahmani added that food production increased by 15 percent from March 21 through November 21 of this Iranian year, raw steel by 6.5 percent (15 million tons in the same period of last year) and steel products by 6.6 percent (13.1 million tons in the same period of last year).
The Iranian minister said that copper cathode increased by 13 percent (159,000 tons in the same period of last year), plate glass - by 10.2 percent (663,000 tons in the same period of last year) and cement production by 7.2 percent (37.6 million tons in the same period of last year).
"Iran should stay focused on domestic production despite the US sanctions," Rahmani said.
“The most important program of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade is to maintain the production process,” Rahmani said. “In this regard, important decisions have been made in various spheres in the provinces and regions.”
"Thus, licenses for the enterprises’ activity increased by 5.9 percent from March 21 through November 21 of this Iranian year (3,741 projects in the same period of last year) while licenses for establishment of enterprises increased by 16.7 percent (14,683 projects in the same period of last year).
