Azerbaijan exported goods worth over $1.6 billion in January 2020, Trend reports referring to data from Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.
According to the report, 53.6 percent of the exports account for Italy, 8.5 percent for Israel, 5.8 percent for Turkey, 4.4 percent for Tunisia, 4 percent for Ukraine, 3.1 percent for the Czech Republic, 2.8 percent for Portugal, 2.4 percent for Germany, 2.3 percent for Russia, 2.2 percent for Austria and Spain, 1.9 percent for France and Croatia, 1.8 percent for Greece, and 3.1 percent for other countries.
In the field of non-oil production, more than a third of the total number of products was exported to Russia (34.3 percent). 23.5 percent of the products were exported to Turkey, 12.1 percent to Switzerland, 6 percent to Georgia, 4.2 percent to China, 2.9 percent to Italy, 2.2 percent to Ukraine and Brazil, 1.6 percent to Germany, 1.3 percent to Kazakhstan, 1.2 percent to Greece, and 1 percent to Iran.
The export of vegetable oils increased by 9.3 times, margarine and other mixtures fit for nutrition - 3.9 times, cotton fiber - 3.7 times, canned fruits and vegetables - 80 percent, fruit and vegetable juices — 70 percent, polyethylene — 60 percent, potato — 17.3 percent, raw aluminum — 5.1 percent, cotton yarn — 34.9 percent, ferrous metal pipes — 25.3 percent, and bentonite clay - by 18.4 percent compared to January 2019.
Export of fresh vegetables and fruits decreased by 17 and 22.7 percent, respectively, cotton wool - by 11.7 percent, sugar - by 44.5 percent, tea - by 56.6 percent, tobacco - by 67.1 percent, and wines and grape must - by 87.3 percent.
