A 'smart' high-tech product of Azerbaijan has been introduced in the country’s Ismayilli district, the Innovation Agency under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan told Trend.

According to the agency, the first samples of smart-city components are bus stops, upgraded seats and lighting poles installed in the center of Ismayilli district.

"These components developed by RD SMART LLC, a resident of the High-Tech Park in Pirallahi village. The High Tech Park is operating under the Innovation Agency," said the agency.

The 'Smart Stop', powered by solar energy, protects passengers waiting at the bus stop every 10 minutes for 10 seconds by spraying 'BIOZANIS' disinfectant solution into the air without alcohol, chlorine and harm to the human body, invented by Azerbaijani scientists, noted the agency.

"Moreover, a hand disinfection dispenser is installed at the bus stop, there's also free Wi-Fi, four mobile phone chargers, two security cameras and vending equipment for selling water," the agency added.

The agency emphasized that for the convenience of passengers, the bus schedule will be displayed on a special panel.

“Why in the district? Because the goal is to adapt public services to modern technologies, saving the budgets of the districts. Thus, the installation of new solar and wind lamps produced by the company saves 95 percent of the money used by traditional light poles. Savings are also achieved by spending money on monthly electricity bills, since the lights run on a 100-percent solar energy,” the agency said.
