Uzbekistan to start exporting dried fruits to Saudi Arabia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 20

Representatives of Uzbek BMB Trade Group held a video conference with Abdul Aziz Al Qusaire, the head of Saudi Qusaire company, Trend reports citing Dunyo News Agency.

The sides discussed issues on introducing Uzbek products to the Saudi Arabian market and implementation of joint investment projects.

"Earlier, Al Qusaire took part in international business forums and exhibitions and held talks with a number of officials of Uzbekistan in 2019, as a result of which memorandums on implementation of investment projects worth $550 million were signed," the report said.

During the videoconference, Al Qusaire expressed readiness to cooperate with BMB Trade Group in development of export-import operations and implementation of investment projects.

Initially, it is planned to start with export of dried fruits such as raisins, dry apricots, almonds and nuts, from Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia.

Following the negotiations, the sides reached an agreement to start exporting dried fruits in the nearest future.
