Iran to develop breakwaters in Kangan port

Iran has started the construction of breakwaters for the development of Kangan port, the Managing Director of Port and Maritime Organization in Bushehr Province, Siyavash Arjmandzadeh said, Trend reports citing Port and Maritime Organization website.

"Construction of breakwaters for development of Kangan port has been started with $40 million investment," Arjmandzadeh said.

"The project includes the construction of new breakwaters in the east and west side of the port alongside installing Bullard, asphalt, and lights on eastern and western breakwaters," he noted.

"The 440-meter floating dock in Kangan port will operate with $1.1 million as part of port's development. The office and guard buildings will be installed within a year at Kangan port with $83,000," he added.

"Development of pool in Kangan port up to 36 hectares would be implemented in two phases. The first phase will start operating in 30 months with $300,000 and would create considerable change and transform a traditional port to a modern one with the capacity to harbor more ships and increase trade," he said.

"The development of Kangan port would improve trade and tourism alongside increase capacities to unload and load cargo," he said.
