By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Georgia has no reason to increase bread price, said Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili, Trend reports via Georgian media.

He made the remark at the meeting with bread and wheat producers.

"Given the economic situation in the world on the background of the pandemic, we have regular meetings with representatives of the business sector. We had another working meeting with wheat and bread producers. We have no reason to increase the bread price. We carry out constant monitoring of wheat stocks. We will have no delay in the supply of either bread or flour; prices will be maintained," the minister said.

Davitashvili spoke about flour and bread as the most demanded products at the meeting. He also considered the need to maintain a stable price and the importance of making responsible decisions by the business sector in the current situation.

"I think our cooperation is constructive, transparent, and effective. We must be able to maintain stability and, at the same time, a positive environment for business development,” Davitashvili said.
