Production of Iran’s Mouteh gold mine increases

A total of 162 kg of gold bars were produced at the Mute gold mine in Iran’s Isfahan Province during 6 months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21), the Managing Director of the mines Alireza Talari said, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

The director noted, however, according to the plan, 140 kg of gold bullion was to be produced in this mine during the reporting period.

He added that this means the production increased by 16 percent compared to the plan.

“It is forecasted that this figure will increase to 300 kg by the end of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, to March 21, 2021),” he said.

According to the director, the produced gold is world-class in terms of quality and karat with the application of standards for the production of gold bullion in the mine.

Talari stressed according to forecasts, the price of each ounce of gold in the world will be over $2,000 and will not rise further.

Talari noted that after the resolving of the coronavirus problem, the price of gold may fall.

The Mouteh gold mine is located in Mouteh village in Maymeh county of Isfahan Province. The mine was commissioned in 1993. Up to 300 tons of pure gold may be produced in the mine a year.
