The Iranian government is to support the tourism sector that has suffered from the coronavirus pandemic by delaying the business loan repayments to the end of the current Iranian year (started March 20, 2020), said Iranian Government Spokesman.

"It has been approved that utilities and tax payments would be postponed for the tourism sector while more assistance will be provided," said Ali Rabiei, Trend reported citing Mehr News Agency.

According to him, the government tries to increase non-oil export despite the US sanction pressures therefore exporters would have two more weeks to return export foreign currency revenue to the country.

"The Central Bank of Iran would return the value-added tax from the export foreign currency revenue back to exporters. A total of $8 billion foreign currency revenue has been returned to the country since June, and the government has planned incentive policies for exporters. Expanding export is on the agenda more than ever and special committees are formed to monitor return export revenue back to the economy," he said.
