Uzbekistan, UAE consider creation of joint agro-industrial clusters

Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) considered the creation of joint agro-industrial clusters for the cultivation and subsequent export to the UAE market of fruits and vegetables, Trend reports citing Dunyo information agency.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov, who is in the United Arab Emirates on a visit, met and discussed with the Minister of Economy of the Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri the prospects for strengthening strategic partnership in the spheres of investment, industry and trade.

The parties noted the dynamic development of investment cooperation between the two states, while emphasizing the significant existing opportunities for expanding and diversifying the portfolio of joint investment projects with an emphasis on the creation of large high-tech industrial production facilities.

In addition, an agreement was reached on cooperation to establish interaction between large corporations of the UAE with the relevant departments and companies of Uzbekistan by organizing targeted meetings and negotiations.

Also, an agreement was reached on the implementation of joint events with the participation of representatives of the Emirati and Uzbek business communities in order to facilitate the strengthening of regular business relationships.

The parties agreed to hold the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates in the first quarter of 2021 in Abu Dhabi.
